About

Be warned: the writing of many books is endless, & excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God & keep His commandments, because this applies to every person—Ecclesiastes 12:12-13

Theology is a Latin term (theologia) derived from Greek, theo (God) + logia (study of), that is translated as “the study (ology) of God (Theo). Theology is simply, the study of God. But practically, it is learning and knowing who God is deeply, personally, communally, and rightly.

A.W. Tozer wrote, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” Learning about God is the most important undertaking we have as His creatures. Not just studying things about God, not reading about God, not knowing a plethora of theological terms and concept, but truly knowing who God is. We can know God better through studying about Him. We have a duty to learn who He is, what His will is for our life, and forge an eternal relationship with Him, the one True God which is the trinitarian God of the Bible. The best source for that is the Bible directly (Acts17:11) and supplicated with the Holy Spirit guiding us into all Truth (John 16:13). We should most regularly and heartily read, meditate, memorize, pray, obey, apply, and submit to God’s Word. The next best thing we should study after the Bible in our growing knowledge about God is theology books.
